How much does a Unitree robot cost in the US?

Important

These are not Ruway prices

They are the list prices Unitree publishes on its official store, at origin (China), in US dollars and before taxes. Bringing the robot into the US adds international shipping, import duties, customs brokerage and sales tax. We quote the robot delivered and working.

As of October 14, 2026, on Unitree's official store and at origin (China), a robot dog starts at $1,600 (Go2 Air), a walking humanoid at $4,900 (R1 Air), the G1 at $13,500 and the full-size H2 at $29,900. Developer versions cost more, and the industrial quadrupeds (A2, B2) are priced on request. List prices don't include shipping, US import duties or sales tax.

Import costs: what gets added in the US

Import duties

The US accepts the ATA Carnet for trade shows and professional equipment. Robots imported from China pay regular duty plus Section 301 duties (25% on List 1 and, since July 24, 2026, an additional 12.5%). If they classify as industrial robots (HTS 8479.50), that comes to around 40% on top of the declared value, by our own arithmetic; the classification of legged robots isn't settled, so we confirm it with a customs broker on each import.

Sales tax

No federal sales tax or VAT: 45 states and many cities charge sales tax. Rentals are taxed differently from state to state.

Tax Foundation, 2026

FCC

Since July 28, 2026, foreign-produced advanced robotic devices are on the FCC Covered List: new models can no longer get FCC authorization, but models authorized before that date can still be imported, sold and used, and can receive software updates through at least January 1, 2029. Unitree says the Go2, A2, B2, R1, G1 and H2 were authorized before the rule; we check the FCC ID on every unit.

Public-sector buyers

Unitree is on the Department of Defense's 1260H list of Chinese military companies (June 10, 2026). That bars DoD contracts with Unitree from June 30, 2026 and DoD contracts for goods it produces from June 30, 2027. It is not a ban on private purchase or use. Bills that would extend the restriction to all federal procurement (the American Security Robotics Act and provisions of the FY2027 NDAA) had not been enacted as of September 2026.

Frequently asked questions

Are these your prices?

No. They're the list prices Unitree publishes on its official store, at origin (China). We quote the robot delivered in the US and working: shipping, duties, setup and training included.

How much does a robot dog cost?

At origin (China), Unitree's cheapest quadruped, the Go2 Air, lists at $1,600 as of October 14, 2026; the programmable version (Go2 EDU) is priced on request. The industrial quadrupeds (A2 and B2) have no published price.

How much does a humanoid robot cost?

List prices at origin (China) as of October 14, 2026: the R1 from $4,900, the G1 from $13,500 and the H2 from $29,900. The developer versions cost more and some are priced on request.

Why does a robot cost more in the US than the list price?

Because shipping, import duties and state sales tax are added to the list price. Robots made in China pay regular duty plus Section 301 duties: if a Go2 Air classifies as an industrial robot, that adds about $640 to its $1,600 price before shipping and sales tax (our own arithmetic; the classification isn't settled).

Can I still buy a Unitree robot in the US?

Yes, models with an FCC authorization from before July 28, 2026. Since that date, foreign-produced advanced robotic devices are on the FCC Covered List and new models can't get authorized. Unitree says the Go2, A2, B2, R1, G1 and H2 were authorized before the rule.

Can the Department of Defense buy Unitree robots?

No. Unitree has been on the DoD 1260H list since June 2026, which bars DoD contracts with the company. It doesn't restrict private buyers.
